How much does a polar bear weigh?

Enough to break the iceberg metaphor.

Feeling frozen out of the opportunity to live your best life?

Here’s a little thought experiment for you.

Take a second to think about that goal of yours that feels so out of reach.

What is that goal? What is that dream?

What do you love about it?

What makes you want it so much?

What would it mean for your life if you achieved it?

Maybe you want to climb Mt. Everest (sensing the theme here?).

Maybe you want to backpack across Europe, or take a road trip across the US.

Maybe you want to work for yourself.

Or maybe your goal is more of a lifelong dream.

Maybe you want to play music professionally or become a full-time as an actor or artist.

Maybe you want to end poverty in your city or even your country.

(Dream big for this! We need you to succeed!)

Now, imagine it’s right in front of you but it’s covered in ice.

It’s not so much that it’s out there in the distance…

It’s right in front of you, buried… under a thick sheet of ice.

Great, you think – it’s still out of reach.

Before you grow cold toward me, hear me out:

You have the pickax.

You can chip away at that ice at any time.

In other words, with each move you make toward that goal, that mound of ice shrinks.

As you make calls, save money, plan, invest, dream some more, share that dream – the ice around your it gets smaller and smaller.

Do enough and, eventually, you reach the core. What you wanted all along.

I know it’s hard for you to get your hopes up about a dream that seems impossible, even lightyears away.

I would feel that way, too… But you’re looking at it wrong.

It’s not impossible, it’s just going to take a lot of chipping away before you get to it.

And that’s a good thing.

How will you approach your dream differently knowing it’s frozen in ice, waiting for you to chip away at it?
