Here’s a fun exercise you can do when you have the time:

Take a piece of paper and fold it in half. On one side, write down all the things you are currently doing that are working.

If it’s helping you reach your goals in life; if it’s making you happier and healthier; if it makes you feel good; write it down.

This is to show you that you are already doing things that are working!

You have the knowledge and the skills to achieve your goals.

You do things well at least some of the time – otherwise, you’d be a lot worse off than you are now.

Speaking of a lot worse off…

On the other side of the page, write down all the things you are currently doing that aren’t working.

If it’s preventing you from succeeding; if it’s making you sadder, madder, or sicker; if it’s causing you to feel bad; write it down.

This is to show you that you already know what you need to let go of!

You have the knowledge and the skills to care for yourself and achieve your goals.

You’re smart enough to do this.

With enough time and focus, you can do anything.

My final questions for this exercise:

Can you let go of all the things that aren’t working…

And embrace the things that are?
