Knowing what you want is almost as important as knowing who you want to be when you get there.

You read that right.

Think about it this way: if you could already be there, you’d be there. Therefore, there’s something that’s not quite clicked yet. It’s up to you to figure out what that is and begin to make the changes necessary.

You may need to work on skills, meaning it’s a matter of being better at what you do to accomplish the goal.

Maybe gaining more information is what the doctor ordered.

And maybe plain old need an attitude adjustment. See the world differently.

(If you’re like me, you’ll need all three. Coach can be stubborn sometimes.)

So, what about you? Where do you know you most need to grow right now?

Are you not skilled enough? Do you lack the knowledge? Or are you not yet who you need to be?

Let these questions guide you.

For now, let’s move forward with the who – who do you want to be when you get there?

How do you want to show up for yourself and the people and your life? How do you want to show up for your clients? Your fans?

What do you want to be known for?

What impression do you want to give off?

What impression do you want to leave behind?

In my experience, you want to let this question guide you. Even if you have it figured out already, make note of these things and let them pull you along your path.

You have the power to be almost anything. Being deliberate about who you want to be will allow you to be in alignment with yourself and your goal.

After all, what’s the point of achieving the goal if you leave your true self behind?
